Family Fun!

Yesterday (March 7) we celebrated the birthday of Dennis' Aunt Judy. We drove to Huntingdon to share the day with the Parish family. I always eagerly anticipate time with the Parish family... they are just extra special!

Here was our day.....

Wake up with Scotty P at 6ish. He slept in... yay! Feed Scott breakfast, start laundry, shower, give Scott a bath, and then breakfast for me and Dennis. Scott finally laid down for a nap about 45 minutes before we had to leave. It is amazing to me how the time just vanishes when you have a small child... we got up extra early in order to make it out the door by 10:30/11ish and still were running late! Maddening! I made a mix stick (the truck can take a flash drive) and we were on our way! The day was beautiful and the sun was shining. Scott was a trooper and even kept time with some of the music. That only lasted a little while... he was out like a light about the time we reached Dickson.

Bless his tired little heart!
Once we reach Ray and Judy's we are ready to get out of the car. Their place is such a wonderland. There are acres for Scotty to run and play if he wanted to (he stayed pretty close to us most of the time).

Dennis and I got to enjoy fellowship with family. All the Parish's were there and everyone seemed to come hungry! Judy's sister Ellen had made a beautiful and delicious banana cake and it was completely gone within an hour! We had BBQ, baked beans, potato salad, and Judy had even made a Mounds cake! Yummmmm.... We sat on the back porch and talked for a long time.

Once every one's food was settled, the go-cart got fired up. Scotty was trying to start it and make it go as soon as he saw it! Dennis got in the drivers seat and held on tight to our little boy.... Scott had the best time EVER!

After the fun go cart ride, we all went out to the barn to see the truck that Uncle Ray is working on.... Scott spies the big red tractor and with help from Cousin Hope and Aunt Judy he is on top of the world (well, at least the tractor anyway). How much fun can one little boy have in one day?

Too funny! I am not sure what that look means... but what a fun day we had. There is nothing better than family. And it is extra special when you like your family! We are doubly blessed. I certainly look forward to the next Parish get together.... hope it is fairly soon!
